Dr. Enrique Oviedo, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Enrique Oviedo is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in addiction treatment who serves as the CMO for MATClinics. A graduate of the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine, he has practiced in the area for more than a decade, including as medical director for Catholic Charities of Baltimore’s addiction treatment services and as a clinical associate professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
At MATClinics, Dr. Oviedo works with a clinical team of more than 20 nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and licensed behavioral health specialists to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to the needs of individual patients. He is an active member in both the Maryland Psychiatric Society and the Maryland-DC Society of Addiction Medicine.
Dan
CEO & Co-Founder
Dan is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MATClinics which he founded in 2016 with his wife Lauren. Dan oversees organizational strategy, operations, compliance, and growth. He focuses on building an outpatient treatment model that aligns clinical excellence with operational rigor and long-term financial viability. He works closely with clinical leadership to ensure that care delivery models support patient outcomes while meeting state and federal regulatory requirements.
Prior to founding MATClinics, Dan spent more than 20 years in energy commodities, finance, and private equity. He holds an MBA from Duke University and a combined BA/MS from the University of Rochester.
Sarah
Director of Operations
Sarah has been an integral part of the MATClinics team since joining the team in 2019, having held numerous roles within the organization before stepping into her current leadership position. In her current role, Sarah spearheads business development while overseeing the implementation of new company-wide initiatives. She is instrumental in the organization's expansion, managing the opening of new office locations and supervising staff across all eight MATClinics sites. Her focus remains on ensuring seamless, high-quality operations that support both the staff and the patients they serve.
She earned her BA from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2018, and has been with the company continuously since graduating.
Lauren
Program Director & Co-Founder
Lauren is the Co-Founder and Program Director of MATClinics, bringing over 18 years of experience in managing opioid use disorder interventions across Maryland. With an MA in Counseling Psychology from Towson University, she blends deep clinical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to patient care. Her long-standing dedication to the field has been a cornerstone in shaping the compassionate and effective treatment environment that defines the organization today.
In her current role, Lauren oversees the daily clinical operations across all eight locations, leading a multidisciplinary team of 100 providers, case managers, counselors, and medical assistants. She is instrumental in implementing and maintaining the clinic’s harm reduction model, ensuring that patient care is always rooted in dignity, safety, and evidence-based practices. By focusing on meeting patients where they are, Lauren ensures that the entire staff provides a supportive, judgment-free path to recovery for everyone who walks through our doors.
Erica
Practice Administrator & Director of Human Resources, Compliance Officer
Erica Eicher has over 13 years of experience in healthcare and has been with MATClinics for nearly nine years. She began as a Certified Medical Assistant and progressed through roles including Lead MA and Clinical Coordinator, ultimately becoming Practice Administrator and Director of Human Resources. Erica has a strong talent for policies, procedures, and operational structure, and has helped build systems and workflows that MATClinics continues to use today. She is passionate about healthcare and helping people recover, and takes pride in supporting both patients and the employees who care for them.
In addition to her administrative leadership, Erica serves as Compliance Officer, ensuring the organization meets regulatory standards and operates efficiently. SHRM-certified and largely self-taught, she is proud of her practical, hands-on experience in healthcare. Erica is also completing her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, which will further complement her extensive real-world expertise. She is proud to be a trusted resource for employees and a partner in the ongoing success of MATClinics.
Kelly
Director of Counseling
Kelly Maher is a dedicated Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a deep-seated commitment to evidence-based treatment and clinical leadership within the mental health and substance abuse fields. A graduate of Towson University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, she has practiced in the Baltimore area for over a decade. Throughout her career, she has held diverse leadership and clinical roles, ranging from direct psychotherapy and research project management to supervising clinical teams and overseeing behavioral health operations.
At MATClinics, where she serves as the Director of Counseling, Kelly leads a multidisciplinary team of substance use counselors and mental health therapists to develop comprehensive, patient-centered care plans. She is responsible for providing clinical supervision and mentorship to her staff, ensuring that all treatment remains rooted in the latest evidence-based practices while maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for her clinicians, she ensures the delivery of high-quality care that drives positive, long-term outcomes for individuals navigating the complexities of recovery.
